Jeff Murrell, a.k.a. DJ JAM, came on the DJ scene in the early 2000s while working as a clothing designer and rep (Hugo Boss, Polo & Calvin Klein) in Los Angeles. While frequenting popular New York and L.A. electro-house clubs in the late 90s, he became inspired by DJs AM, Donald Glaude and Marcus Wyatt (among others) to partner up with the likes of John Finch and marketing mastermind Neil Jackson to start their own innovative, funky, DJ inspired clothing line called 33 Degrees. As the clothing line started to take off, so did a new-found relationship with Techinics, which gave DJ JAM his first set of turntables for his showroom in downtown L.A. Not wasting a moment, DJ JAM developed relationships with music industry experts like Wayne Vaughn from Earth, Wind & Fire and learned everything he could about being a DJ, sound and lighting expert. In record time, DJ JAM was booked for his first paid gig at the 1/1/2001 Ministry New Years Eve Party at the Millennium Dome in London, England. Over the next 5 years, DJ JAM delicately balanced being a clothing designer, DJ and up-and-coming AVP player. Finally, in 2005, DJ JAM took a year off to DJ and play volleyball full time in Australia. Upon his arrival back here in the states the following year, he made a full time commitment to being a DJ and founded Focus Entertainment. Since then, he’s been rocking parties from New York to Miami to Los Angeles. Click here to contact DJ JAM about bookings. | ![]() |
